HAPPY 29TH BIRTHDAY STEVEN!
Ok, now to the task at hand........
I love Pinterest, I really do!
But some things are a complete failure.
First thing first, I shouldn't have thought I could BAKE Mozzarella Sticks, really?
Aren't they meant for deep frying?
Slap on the wrist here, I didn't pin this recipe, but I printed it off.
Why Mozzarella sticks? I made some homemade marinara and wanted something besides spaghetti to eat it with, what better than Mozzarella sticks?
Maybe I failed because I didn't use the brand needed, which was Lucerne Cheese Sticks.
I just used Kraft cheese sticks, I mean, what's the difference, right?
Anyway, it called for 8 frozen cheese sticks cut in half (I used more), 1 cup of Italian Style Breadcrumbs, 1 beaten egg, 1/4 cup of milk, 1/4 cup of vegetable oil.
Combine the beaten egg and milk. Pour into dish. Moisten the breadcrumbs with the oil and place into another dish. Remove the cheese sticks from the freezer. Roll cheese sticks in milk/egg mixture then into breadcrumbs. Repeat the process once more.
That was fine and dandy.
Place coated cheese sticks onto a lined or greased baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 425 degree oven for 8-10 minutes.
Before, they looked good! |
After... ehh.... |
Did we eat them? You can bet we did! Even though they looked crappy, they still tasted good!
Have you had a Pinterest fail? I wanna hear about it! :)
HAHA! I love pinterest fails!
