~ Bachelor Fun ~

If you know me, you know I love the Bachelor.  And you also know that I know ALL the spoilers from the lovely Reality Steve.  I already know who wins from the first episode, but I like to see how their relationship evolves.  And of course, ABC loves to throw those ..... this is gonna happen.... but it totally means something else, I hate that, but I guess that what they call good TV.

My plan for the Bachelorette is to do a episode by episode.  I was a little behind on my shows this time around because my husband came home from 3 years working overseas.  You can't blame a girl can ya!

Just because I know who "wins" I will not mention it for those of you that don't know.
I'd like to tell you my thoughts on who I think the Bachelorette will be, but then that would give away who technically loses.

The Women Tell All is on Monday, March 4 and the thing I look forward to the most is the bloopers.  I wish they would show a full hour of those, if that is even possible.  I've been looking for the one from Jake Pavelka's season, when the girls describe Tenley (in a good, but funny way).  I can't find it for the life of me.

So speaking of the fun stuff surrounding the Bachelor I've included a couple short videos that should put a smile on your face.

Here is a video from Jimmy Kimmel and how Sean Lowe gets his roses:

If you remember Michelle Money, you'll remember ABC made her look out to be someone she wasn't.  Well if you have a twitter account, it is a must that you follow her, that girl is just plain funny.  Here is a video she posted the other day mocking mainly Tierra and a little of Des. Those of you that watched this season will know what she is doing and why it is funny:

Speaking of Tierra, I'm not quite sure ABC is editing her all wrong like they did Michelle, guess we will find out as time goes on.

~ Let's Do This ~

So as mentioned in my very first post I signed up for my very first 1/2 Marathon!  I planned on getting started weeks ago, but obviously that didn't happen. So tonight I am back at it!  I've got a little less than 9 weeks, which from what I've read I need 12.  Oh well, the way I look at it, I'm doing one, right?  Whether I walk, run, jog, or crawl past that finish line, I will finish it proudly!

One thing I try to do when I hit the gym again is TRY my best to eat SOMEWHAT healthy, it's very hard to do for me!  Am I pro at knowing what "healthy" is, NO!  But with the help of my fellow gym buddy, she helps me know what is good and what is not!

I'm not a big fan of fruits and vegetables at all!  One thing I found that I loved was a banana smoothie.  I actually HATE bananas, the texture side of it, but I love the smoothie version.  I've been doing the smoothie version here and there and decided to add strawberries to it this morning. So below is just some ice, 2 bananas, and 2 strawberries.  I was scared to add any more strawberries because of the taste, but maybe I'll add more tomorrow morning, it wasn't that bad!  My lovely husband was glad to be my taste tester for this one!

Another favorite of mine I actually heard of on the radio on a Kroger ad.  It was about tuna avocado salad.  I told myself, I needed to find a recipe.  All the ones I could find had stuff that I'd rather not put in there.  I got ideas and put something together myself.  1 avocado, 1 can of light tuna, and 2 hard boiled eggs.  I usually cut and mix at work because I keep forgetting lime juice which helps the avocado not turn brown.  It does take up some of my lunch time, but oh well!  The first time I had it I thought to myself, wow I'm not full at all!  But give it 15-20 minutes, it'll settle and you'll be full!  :)

If you have any healthy recipes for a picky person like me, please throw them my way!

~ Sales Calls & Calorie Counting ~

Ever hate it when sales people call your phone?  What kind of question is that, of course you hate it!  This article brought up something that took place actually last week at work.
A sales person called one of our employee's work phones wanting to sell a home security system.  The employee just kept telling him that he had a car to sell and asked if he wanted to buy it.  I got to hear the whole conversation because it was put on speaker.  That sales person never missed a beat trying to sell that security system and basically ignored anything said about the car.  The article is below, but a few that I found rather funny and might have to try out myself are:
  • Ask them to translate in pig Latin, because that's all you can speak.
  • Ask them what color underwear they are wearing today.
  • Ask them for their phone number so you can call them back and chat some more.
  • Begin snoring

Calorie counting!  Everyone loves it!  NOT!  I did it for awhile and was amazed about how much I ate a day, but I found myself constantly hungry.  Every day I was like... man I have to work out X amount of time to burn X amount off.  UGH!  So I stopped counting calories and I found myself eating basically the same thing, but not being hungry.  Weird, I know!  I think it's a whole mind trick thing.  For those counting, you know that a little food is alot of calories (with some things).  This article shows you what exactly 200 calories is in 29 pictures.  To some, it may surprise you.
Of course you can eat more fruit and vegetables, but who enjoys that unless you add, say peanut butter on your apples (Yes, that is me! My new fav!) The ones that shocked me was the splenda and the fries, I expected them to be way less! So enjoy.... the link to the 5800 calories is below.

~ A little Flair to Your Gift ~

I'm a super plain Jane gift wrapper.  Wrap it and be done.  But I seen something on Pinterest that I wanted to try out.

Sent the hubs on a Hobby Lobby run, which he absolutely loves, NOT!

Got me some crepe streamer, glitter, tacky glue, and a brad of choice.

I was limited to the brad of choice since there are tons at Hobby Lobby and my husband had no clue what to grab, so I had to use what I had at home.

I folded the crepe paper over and over and over, I actually never counted how many times.  I then slit each end so that all the peices would be seperate.  I then rounded the top ends and then curved it like the top of a heart (kinda hard to explain). But you can see from the pics.

I then basically rolled the tops of the crepe into glue then in glitter, easy peasy!

I cut out a circle then "scrunched" the unglued part and glued them onto that circle, 4 on the first layer, then 4 on the next.  Don't overlap directly on each other, you want some dimension.

Then I just pushed the brad through the middle and attached it to the gift.  The purple brad was the best thing I could find at the moment.  :)

And there you have it!  Some flair to your gift!

I'm linked up to The Pinspiration Project! Check it out!

~ Lucky Leprechaun Book & Polish Swap ~

Attempting to get more into the blogging world I have signed up for the Lucky Leprechaun Book and Polish Swap (check the button out on the right hand column).  You have no idea how excited I am about this!  It is a simple swap of, you guessed it, a book and nail polish!  Not only do I love buying gifts for other people but I love ANY type of mail.  Yes I said any, even bills, crazy right?! Be sure to check out my post on March 15th for my reveal of what I received!!!!

~ Chicken Parmesean ~

So, Steven and I decided we were going to try out (hopefully) at least 1 new recipe a week.  What better place than to get it off Pinterest.  If you don't know what that website is, please go check it out!

There was a pin on there about OMG Chicken.  I looked at the recipe on Saturday before going to grocery shopping and picked up the ingredients:
  • Parmesean (calls for 1/4 cup, I used 1 cup)
  • Chicken
  • Italian bread crumbs
  • Mayo Sour Cream (1/2 cup)
Now, I said I looked at the recipe on Saturday.  I go to make the chicken tonight and I see on the actual pin that it said sour cream, so I was flipping out... I didn't have the ingredients to make this, what am I going to do?!?!?!  Thankfully Walgreens is right up the road! So I picked up some sour cream there! I get back home, look at the actual recipe again and it DOES say mayo.  By this time I've already started the "mixture"

So, here goes nothing.  I sure hope it turns out well..... so I add the bread crumbs.  I put the chicken on parchment paper for a little bit easier clean up.  Baked at 400 for about 20 minutes (I used chicken strips instead of breasts)

How did it turn out?  Actually VERY good!!! So I'm going to say sour cream was the best bet!  It was moist, lots of flavor, and cheesy!!

Add some carrots and perogies and BAM, there you have it!

~ All about me ~

So, blog post #1! I've been throwing around the idea of starting a blog since January 2013 (yes a resolution).  Problem was a blog name!  I couldn't settle on one!  So, went with a plain ol' Tid Bits.  There wasn't just one specific thing I wanted to blog about.  My mind wanders so often, so expect to see anything on here.  My thoughts are to stick with crafts I do, new foods I try, recipes I make, reality shows, training for my 1/2 marathon, etc.
But first let's learn a little about me:
  • I am a HUGE dog lover.
  • Married my husband October 31, 2009.
  • I DO NOT drive in snow, don't trust myself.
  • Very organized person, I like to call it OCD myself!
  • Any vacation I could take would be beach oriented.
  • 1/2 the time I have to FORCE myself to go to the gym, although I usually thank myself afterwards.
  • I love pictures and to scrapbook, although I don't do it much anymore.
  • I am an original Iphone user.  Remember when they first came out, you couldn't send MMS?
  • I signed up for my 1st half marathon for April 27, 2013.
  • I have a BBA .
  • I like to transpose my numbers and usually can never find my mistake until I have someone else look over it.
  • I wear silver, not gold.
  • I have TMJ.
  • I have been religiously going to the dentist for 6 month check ups since I can remember and I still go to the same dentist, even though I have to drive 50 minutes away for her.
  • I love to brush my own teeth, but can't watch anyone brush their teeth (in person or TV) or brush anyone else's if asked (once my sister asked me to brush my nephew's teeth).
  • I love cheese.
  • I love pasta.
  • I have never broken 1 bone in my body, sprained a few ankles and jammed a few fingers and toes though.
  • My first concert was Nsync.
  • I competed 3 times in Miss TN USA, although I never placed it was a pretty amazing experience each time.
  • I love watching the Bachelor or Bachelorette.  I love love, that's all.  Plus sometimes ABC can really make this stuff sooo funny!  The spoofs that Yahoo! has made about them is DEAD ON (spoof is burning love).
